Shortlisted in 2011 for the Malahat Open Season Awards in poetry, he won the Victoria Writers’ Society 2010 poetry prize and placed second in the 2009 CV2 Manuscript Contest. Richard leads poetry writing retreats and poetry workshops in drug and alcohol recovery centres.
